April 2017; My LCHF Report

April had been more likely 'Anti-Keto of the month' so far.  I guess I couldn't be bothered it much and I enjoyed all the food around me. So, I gained around 3.5lb of my lowest so far. Funny thing is that I didn't really care and my waist line pretty much same.

So I tried Keto-Friendly smoothie challenge for 5 days and my weight came back to the lowest. But again, it gradually came back to soon I ate normal solid foods but I feel okay. After smoothie challenge, I didn't do my aftercare so I have got a massive acid reflex and I suffered a lot. For weeks of management of my body, I am back to normal. Don't get me wrong, it is a not from the smoothie challenge, condition was caused by entirely my fault.

Overall, since I have had a look around my photo on April  while I blog the post, I wasn't that bad. I must say there were 4-5 times of cheating on April.

Avocado & mozzarella salad with lots of olive oil was one of the easiest and simplest meal for LCHF diet.

Again pork belly, steamed, fried or slow-cooked always delicious.

Eggs...

Fried eggs with a crushed crispy seaweed sheet.

Bacon wrapped avocado with egg.
Mr. made for me and apparently, it is an one of popular recipes on Facebook.

Egg york was slightly over cooked but it was delicious.
I think it is a good weekend brunch Keto-friendly menu.

Again, Mr. cooked for me.
Rolled eggs pancake with bacon & seaweed sheet.
I asked him for this and I must say, it was a weird combination.

Water braised slow-cooked chicken.

This I can share with K&L.
Add various vegis and spiced for human.

2017 April was pretty chilly in London except one day.
So, I was still prefer to cook a warm soup based food.

(Water braised) Slow-cooked beef short ribs with egg noodle.
Serve with Keto-friendly picked celery.

I have made a cabbage and celery pickles.

I used cider vinegar, salt, water
and dates (for a little bit of sweetness).

The pickles goes well with everything.

Self-making spring roll day.

I had lettuces instead of rice paper for a roll.

I like Sainsbury's dairy products the most among UK big supermarkets.
I only buy butter from the M&S because Somerset farmhouse butter is my favourite and it only sell at M&S.

I, sometimes, took a handful of serving size of Keto-friendly ingredient when I order in shops and restaurants. I took it for emergency(?). And for sweetener that it is only can seen in central London coffee local shops at the moment, I don't buy sweeteners because I try to adapt myself to live without sugar or sugar substitute  but I took it because I want to try it. Since I tried it a couple of times, I want more and more and even I had sugary desert once. So my conclusion is that I avoid it at all apart from natural sugar in foods.
