Oil but No Salt & Gluten


Last Thursday was Korean Thanksgiving Day. 

Thanksgiving Day is the biggest holiday in Korea just like Christmas in here. 
It is based in Lunar calendar and it is on 15th of August in every year.
The day is all about family like Christmas. All the family and (close) relatives are gather together and remember the person who passed away. The tradition has been changed but it is still all about family and food.


I have had some time to cook for the special day. But I still try not to eat wheat and salt so all the food were no salt and gluten based. 

I share the one of the recipe what I cooked on the day.




Prawn & Mushroom Cake

200g Prawn

100g Any vegetables : about half of the amount of prawn
I have used carrot, spring onion, white onion, garlic and purple cabbage.

2-3T of flour
I have used brown rice flour but I strongly recommend to use normal wheat flour.

Any kind of closed mushroom

Bitten egg



1.Remove stem of mushroom.
Pour boiling water through mushroom and leave to cool.

2.Finely chop all the ingredient.
Mixed chopped prawn & vegi together with flour 
Season it with pinch salt and pepper.
Add flour if it needs more.

You don't need more salt because you will serve it with soy sauce.



3.Put the mixture into cup of the mushroom.

4. Sprinkle flour on to the prawn mixture only. 



5. Dipping the bitten egg only the prawn mixture side but not to the mushroom.



6. Carefully placed into medium heated non-stick pan.



And I also made Mr.'s favourite.
It can be called Korean kebab(?).




Sweet potato tasting by K&L before it put into batter for tempura.




I also made K&L's dinner because I wouldn't want to even step in kitchen in the evening.
Cook with everything I have used for the day's menu which K&L can eat.






It is all done!

Not much but very proud!



Tempura look ugly because I only use rice flour and I know it is not working like wheat flour but worth to try. 



The smells just like holiday in my granny's house while I cook.
I did my best because I think of my granny for this time.

I had a good time and it was delicious and Mr. loves all each of them.


I skyped with my family in the morning(Korea time) on the day.
Mum, dad, Jina my sister, Bonu my nephew, uncle and granny was there together.
It was happy day for me and all of my family.
