(Sorry about unpleasantly dirty KONG. The condition is pretty much like that after couple of years use.)
Cottage cheese is a good treat for dog and it is easy to make at home.
I recommended to make and feed home made Cottage cheese because most of cottage cheese sold in supermarket is added salt and other flavor.
Cottage cheese is unusual source of food for dogs in their wild life so it is fed when dog need a food allergy test.
1 pint milk need about 5 TS of vinegar
I use full fat goat milk and cider vinegar.
Cow's milk is also absolutely fine and any clear vinegar will work as well as lemon juice.
Warm the milk in gentle medium heat
Do not boil the milk
When you see the film formed, take it away from the heat and add vinegar.
When curd is formed, Pass the liquid through a sieve lined with a layer of muslin cloth into a clean bowl.
When all the liquid pass though cottage cheese is on the Muslim cloth.
They love cottage cheese and when I start to make the cheese Kiki & Lilly start their little nose high enough to sniff, smell it and feel it. LOL
And patiently wait for the KONG time!
Important!!
Don't throw away the left over liquid!!
Feed your dog the liquid. It is full of protein and good for source of protein.
If you make them with correct amount of vinegar, it won't be too vinegary so your dog will drink.
Lilly and Kiki loves it and I feed them when after the walk.
They don't drink much as they don't feel thirsty much because they are fed natural source of food which has full of water contain. Dogs who drink a lot of water because Dry dog food make them thirsty obviously...
